The Southland Branch of the NZDA are delighted to offer a scholarship in memory of Foo Chin.
The scholarship is open to students from Southland who have been accepted into the undergraduate Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course at the University of Otago.
The scholarship is awarded annually for each year of the BDS programme (i.e. BDS2, BDS3, BDS4, & BDS5), up to the value of NZD$1,000 per annum.

Applications close each year on the 1st of May.
- The scholarship is open to students who have been accepted into the course for the degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Otago
- If in any year there is more than one applicant, the scholarship will be awarded to the student chosen by the Southland Branch committee
- Applicants may have to attend an interview as part of the selection process
- It is expected that the student will correspond with the Southland Branch of the NZDA, and will attend branch meetings as they are able
- The scholarship applicant should pass every academic year, or the scholarship may be terminated
